Book Illustration for Entrelinhas Urbanas
WHAT
Entrelinhas Urbanas was a project led by FIB, which brought together 96 artists from São Paulo with the aim of portraying the neighborhood of the São Paulo metropolitan region where they were born and grew up. The result, an illustrated compilation from the city, culminated in a book, published and distributed by Sê-Lo, an independent art publisher.
ROLE
I was invited to illustrate the neighborhood of Parque São Lucas, in the East Side of São Paulo, where I grew up. My collaboration was a vector illustration of a typical parish festival (quermesse), that takes place annually in the neighborhood. This and my grandmother's house are my most vivid memories of the place and the atmosphere it carries.

BOOK'S LAUNCH
A public exhibition at Praça das Artes, an important cultural complex located in downtown São Paulo, marked the publication's launch, with all the illustrations giant-sized printed on streamers. Mine included as seen above :)
